The Doom of Edith James is the size of a small building, formless and shifting, manifesting tentacles and scythe-like limbs as well as the crying form or face of Edith. It may be white with black highlights,
Their primary ability comes from being able to bring about the specific event they represent.
Weaknesses
Like many Others, it can be blocked or discouraged by a protective circle.

It will draw back, then strike with inevitability. It's blows may be direct and/or cause some "coincidental" harm to befall the target, but they cannot be avoided, only mitigated. For instance, it slammed a Vessel into a tree, arranging the branches so that they would pierce all the chakra points that might hold it together simultaneously; then dropped another Vessel onto a treetop, breaking it and knocking a branch free which speared a third. The other two it simply decapitated.
A Host can bind one inside themselves and pull it back to them if it escapes, using ritual diagrams on their skin.

When the Doom was weaker, it would shallowly occupy susceptible things, appearing as things like half-heard voices in static or the ramblings of a person with a concussion. It would draw hostile attention to Edith. Dooms are one of the things that might afflict a Forsworn person, twisting things they try.
Varieties
Omens are omens whatever incarnation they derive from, however, the specific circumstances of their creation and interaction with Other s can create specific varieties.
Bodement
Hypothesized the be futures shucked off by innocents bereft of opportunities now looking for a way to carry out their purpose.
Doom
A Doom or Moira (Greek for what we would now recognize as 'Fate') is a hostile Other, along the lines of an Omen or lesser Incarnation of Doom.

If the Doom's host had a child, they would serve as a powerful Hallow for it in the womb, allowing it to flow around most defences and occupy the unborn child. Possibly twisting it into something monstrous, or simply inflicting complications on the mother. Any Practices or powers channeled by it's host could also serve as a potential escape route.
Seemingly interchangeable with Omen though it seems to be in a refined state where it targets a specific person, wearing thir face specifically which means things in Practice.
Portents
A fusion with a compatible Echo that settles into a stable configuration, theirs is a cyclical existence drawing power from events related to their Echo and Omen constituent parts. Very hard to unwind.

A Omen is a broad term encompasing others that bring about events, they are generally derived from Incarnations but can also represent things like Elemental Storms.

Nature[edit]

Omens are counted among the sorts of things that stem from Incarnations. Generally found in the Spirit World, they are both attracted to and causes of disaster. They aren't necessarily obvious to the Sight, although they can be seen with the right training or if you're in the Spirit World.

More shadow-figures, in various shapes, too indistinct to clearly see, but suggestive of animals, people, and things. A kid that looked like he was wearing a cat hoodie. A woman’s silhouette, tall, thin, and see-through, conveying some agitated emotion. - Excerpt from Stolen Away 2.6</ref> among other forms. Omens of interpersonal strife can resemble little girls carrying golden apples, the fore mentioned sword wielding birds mean injury of some kind, those of romantic failure can carry dilapidated bouquets of roses.

Their immaterial nature can allow them to travel along the connections formed by sight, as well as occupy or possess nearly anything.

Omens are employed by Incarnate practitioners with their various professions, but are not restricted to them, Augurs for example are known to use and track omens. They can similarly be an element of a curse being used in the construction of one.

Abilities[edit]

Their primary ability comes from being able to bring about the specific event they represent.

Weaknesses[edit]

Like many Others, it can be blocked or discouraged by a protective circle.

A Host can bind one inside themselves and pull it back to them if it escapes, using ritual diagrams on their skin.

Varieties[edit]

Omens are omens whatever incarnation they derive from, however, the specific circumstances of their creation and interaction with Other s can create specific varieties.

Bodement[edit]

Hypothesized the be futures shucked off by innocents bereft of opportunities now looking for a way to carry out their purpose.

Doom[edit]

A Doom or Moira (Greek for what we would now recognize as 'Fate') is a hostile Other, along the lines of an Omen or lesser Incarnation of Doom.

Seemingly interchangeable with Omen though it seems to be in a refined state where it targets a specific person, wearing thir face specifically which means things in Practice.

Portents[edit]

A fusion with a compatible Echo that settles into a stable configuration, theirs is a cyclical existence drawing power from events related to their Echo and Omen constituent parts. Very hard to unwind.
