She and Basil Winters are friends that were almost lovers.<ref>They’d been friends who’d flirted with being more when they were teenagers.  A reality made all the more confusing because she liked to cling to him to anchor herself in reality.  That had been the source of some teasing- a girl a little smaller than him climbing all over him, sitting on his shoulders, hugging his arm, even standing on his head.

She has dark hair tied into a ponytail along with a tight jacket and low cut jeans.<ref>Her dark hair was tied back into a loose ponytail, she wore a tight jacket, and her jeans were low cut.  It frankly looked like an uncomfortable choice of things to wear, but Marlen wasn’t one to care.- Excerpt from Fall Out 14.z</ref>

Abilities

Marlen is a drifter, someone that used the Demesnes ritual to disconnect from earth.<ref>Marlen was a drifter.  Some practitioners tried to tie themselves to a place and its power.  She’d done the opposite.  She’d ritually disconnected herself from Earth and the earthly at a young age, with the consequence that getting in touch with her was hard.  Which was largely the point.- Excerpt from Fall Out 14.z</ref>

She owns an motorcycle that's enchanted to control how her abilities effect it.<ref>The movement of the tire kicked it up into the diagonal struts that attached the back end of the motorcycle to the wheel.  The stick was trapped there, end dragging, bucking wildly-

See owned a magic egg beater that exploded when she used it to fix her motorcycle.<ref>The sudden movements seemed to provoke Marlen.  She grabbed the egg beater, held it down at the side of the bike, jammed in the most damaged part, then kicked it, hard.

The egg beater exploded into the various ‘repair’ energies that had driven it, and the bike was more or less restored.  A burst of restoration at the cost of a magic item. - Excerpt from Playing a Part 15.6</ref>

Chronology

At some point Crooked Rook tried to stop her before and failed.<ref>“And you’re not dealing with Marlen because-?”

She joined Abraham Mussers plan to take as many Lordships as possible.

The Carmine Exile gainsaid her for eighty six days, when she left by her motorcycle he threatened to manifest Other along her path.<ref>“Marlen Roy, I lay eighty-six falsehoods at your feet, and declare you gainsaid.  You may appeal if you desire.”

She picked the bike up.

“It would be a shame if any Others were to manifest between here and your destination, while you’re that unarmed,” the Carmine said.- Excerpt from Fall Out 14.z</ref> She managed to evade him and later successfully argue him down to only four gainsayings.<ref>The Carmine Exile gainsaid her for eighty-six days.  Without practice she evaded his attempts to stop her, then later sought him out and argued him down to four gainsayings.  She has just recovered her practice and Musser is back to using her to run messages between his Lordships that can’t be traced by technomancy or augury. - Excerpt from Playing a Part 15.6</ref>

Lucy, Reggie, Doe, Toadswallow and Montague attempted to stop her from reaching Basil Winters. After stopping her she managed to escape to the Family Man.<ref>- Playing a Part 15.6</ref> After being threatened she and the Family Man agreed a deal where he would let her go in return for her trafficking women for him. Lucy and the Kennet Other managed to raid a barn were she was being held and capture her before she could escape.<ref>- Playing a Part 15.9</ref> She was held prisoner at the factory with Chloe and Nibble.<ref>- Playing a Part 15.10</ref>

She was eventually freed by Elizabeth Driscoll, Angie Demarest, Milo Songetay, Cynthia Gaspard and Eloise. Afterwards she was sent to find Musser to tell him about Kennet Lost.<ref>- Gone and Done It 17.b</ref>
