Interlude 7.x is the twelfth chapter and first interlude of Void.

Plot[edit]

The chapter starts with an excerpt from Classifying Others: Fiends and Darker Beings. It mostly explains how to identify a true demon, while also providing a couple of examples. The writer turns out to be Rose Thorburn Senior.


Despite Isadora suffering from simply being near the factory, she endures so she can observe Blake's fight. Her nature drives her to solve the mysteries of the universe. As Blake continues his fight, she learns of Blake's foolish nature and the true power of a minor demon.

She acts quickly, breaking her own Connections to contain the damage from the second heirs loss. When the fight was over, she remained one of the few nearby who partially remembered the lost soul.

The Eye of the Storm contemplates on the cynical future for all humans, creation destruction; beginnings that mean endings. His waits as his duty to Conquest, then Blake is eliminated. The Eye tries to adjust to the change and goes with the most basic impulse of its nature: wrecking havoc on Toronto.

The Astrologer nearly falls asleep, but then remembers that she was still under attack by the Sisters of the Torch.

A small group of Behaims get ready for their next move, heading home.

The Elder Sister performs a business deal, then checks to see if the dolls were successfully sent to help fight the demon. After that's done, she prepares another attack on the Astrologer.

The Shepherd feels a silenced scream radiate across the city. He turns away and starts looking for his missing children even though he knows they're dead.

Rose is overwhelmed by her senses. She discovers a note she wrote to herself, explaining what to do next.

Ur cleans up and eagerly awaits the day the bindings wear off. Its Motes consumes a hand, before they all hide away again.
