The six more-or-less humans are heading back.

Verona opens up about her dislike of modern society with the rules and restrictions they're under.

Charles goes in depth about oaths and how that applies to the kennet others. He covers the instinctual harm they might inflict should they feel threatened. He covers the local history as well as his personnel history.

he talks of john and war dogs and the Hungry Choir and the many others as well.

Avery is finally dropped off home and checks in with her grandpa. Goes outside with her mom to check in. Though Avery audibly wonders if it's an interrogation.

Finding Declan in her room playing with her mask regalia, she calls him a "penis". Worried that she [[Rule of Discourse|somehow lied]] Avery elaborates on why he is one. Her dad comes up to referee.

Later at dinner Avery has to suffer through the hated singing show.

The day after, following school letting out the trio are covering what happened when they all got home. Avery recaps her insult with Declan. Together the three of them head over to John Stiles house. Toadswallow and Cheerypop show up having listened in, offering help.
