After she was forced out of her job in aerospace by her boss and blacklisted, she tried to get revenge by cursing him. She originally planned to perform the curse by urinating on his picture and burning it, but while she was performing this a man in red (the [[Carmine Exile]]) appeared in the smoke and guided her through the [[Awakening]] ritual.<ref>“I’m strong enough now,” Franky said.  “My boss screwed me and cut me out of the industry, blackballed me.  Now I can screw with him.”<br><br>Avery looked down at the very crude start to a diagram.
