'''{{PAGENAME}}''' is the tenth and final chapter,  and first interlude, of [[Cutting Class]]. Ferdinanda has a uncomfortable talk with her brother, some time with her friends, and a scarring expereince in yhe headmasters office.

==Plot==
[[Chase Whitt]] talks to [[Fernanda Whitt]], and she's deliberately trying to stay away, not let him get close, following her philosophy of being a manipulative, opportunistic bastard, in order to be able to make anything of herself. She and Laila make promises (or almost) to each other. Then scene in [[Alexander Belanger]]'s office, where he gathers his apprentices and some witnesses ([[Raymond Sunshine]], [[Marie Durocher]], and their apprentices) to see who would defect to go with [[Lawrence Bristow]]. [[Nicolette]], [[Tanner Gilpin|Tanner]], and [[Chase Whitt]] do. [[Seth Belanger]] kind of does, but [[Alexander Belanger]] forswears him. Tensions in the school rise, and [[Alexander Belanger]] leaves.
