== History ==
England was among the countries who colonized [[North America]] and conquered its indigenous peoples. In the Seven Years' War, they fought with France to gain control of the colonies that would later become [[Canada]]. In the War of 1812, they successfully defended these colonies from an invasion by the [[United States of America]].
