Avery was asked by [[She Who Drowns in Moonlight]] to spy on him.

Over time Florin built up connections with prominent and important people, including the mayor, business people, clergy and celebrities. He did this without using practice. He attempted to take over [[Thunder Bay]] with the belief that [[Abraham Musser|Abraham]] would eventually take it and planning to slow him down and force him to negotiate with him. He hired Mrs. Furguson to counter [[She Who Drowns in Moonlight|She Who Drowns in Moonlight's]] powers. Avery managed to stop him by trapping him on the Bound to the Party [[The Paths|Path]], ruining his [[claim]].<ref>- [[Left in the Dust 16.8]]</ref>

He was eventually released after swearing oaths, agreeing to leave [[Thunder Bay]], not seek retribution, act against the city or aid her enemies.
