His appearance is as widely variable as any Lost but the steel sun mask he carries with it's toothed smile and eye slits and painted motif is a near-constant.<ref name=":0">He bowed slightly upon seeing me, and as he rose to a standing position he withdrew a decorated disc from within his coat jacket and doffed it as a mask.  It was a sun, steel painted in chipped, gay orange and yellow.  The front sported two eyeholes and a wide smile with many overlarge but ordinary teeth.  The sun’s rays were mounted at the disc’s edges, each one bent into wavy lines with sharp points.  No string tied that mask to the front of his neckless head, yet it stubbornly remained in place.  The heat of the metal was sufficient to make the thinnest parts of the painted metal mask glow bright.<br><br>

He wore a plain white T-shirt with ‘adventure guide’ on it, with ‘magazine’ in small print beneath it.  It made her think of something her dad had as a backup t-shirt from twenty years ago.  He also wore orange surf shorts that went down to his knees, with sandals.  His arms, legs, and neck were covered in detailed body paint, with shades of blue, and intricate collections of stars.  The cobblestone street around him smoked with residual heat, and even a distance behind him, some Lost would skip or hurry on their way, wincing at the lingering heat.<br><br>The mask was a sun.
