==Plot==
[[Blake]] and [[Maggie]] continue to struggle with navigating through Toronto's twisted streets when, along the way, they encounter a small group of [[Ghouls]] blocking the way. After overcoming her initial shock, [[Rose]] briefs the team about what ghouls are and some of their weaknesses. Unfortunately no one possesses the required materials, so they try [[Evan|Evan's]] idea of throwing eggs at them. That doesn't work either. The group then resorts to violence, making short work of the smaller ones and binding the largest ghoul into pacifism.

A little while after the ghouls leave, the group makes their way over to a woman in a stuck car. Blake offers to help her, and, in return, she invites them into her home. An [[Runes|alarm rune]] activates, alerting [[Duncan Behaim|Duncan]] of their presence. Joanna leaves to prepare some hot chocolate and answer a phone call from her fiancé. Despite Duncan's warning, Joanna was unable to escape. Eventually Duncan arrives, but is unable to do anything without incurring a large [[Karma]] penalty. Blake forces him to summon [[Laird]], who quickly arrives with an army of [[Terracotta Soldiers]].

Using the momentary distraction, Duncan attempts to assault Blake and Maggie with Laird's assistance from outside. During the brawl, Blake's suspicion about the Behaim's magic not actually manipulating time but the perception of time is proven correct. Meanwhile Rose sends her summons to attack Laird. Blake defeats Duncan by holding [[June Burlison|June]] to his throat. As they work to secure their victory, Blake notices that Maggie may have been [[Possession|possessed]] by something. Rose has to stop [[James Corvidae]] from messing with Joanna. Blake opens negotiations with Laird, asking him to choose between family or power. Laird responds by spending large amounts of magic to buy time. When Blake is permitted to look outside again, he sees [[Conquest]] standing over the crumpled bodies of Rose's minions.
