While Ben's working on a circle Deedee comes in. Ben wraps up and heads over to check on his girlfriend off-loading the bags she has saying she has a gift. He admires her and notes the new top she's wearing Noting beyond a goblin murdering stick he doesn't have. Turning around she greets him in her usual fashion, a kiss on the lips and a peck on the chin. She asks him about his day and goes through their usual routine over his practice.

She reveals the present to him. A baby that Ben quickly steps in to properly handle. This offends Deedee making it seems she doesn't 

Deedee seems to have misunderstood a common safe sex conversation for a discussion about having children. This was her answer: collecting a unattended child from a dead mother, plus her shirt. She is a bit put out that he didn't notice, but Ben successfully defends himself, being a practitioner can actually help with relationships.

Deedee goes though what they could do to raise the child and her own experience with baby's left on doorsteps and firshouses, Ben is inspired to take Stray Baby to the fire house.
